Who we are

The only diving centre in the underwater nature reserve of Madeira.
We have been based on the island of Madeira for more than 10 years.
We have high standards, excellent service and are the first and only 5-star-rated, DIN-EURO NORM certified diving centre in the atlantic ocean.
Since 2001, 4 time winner of the ‘Golden Dolphin Award in the category: ‘Best Dive Centre in the Atlantic’.
Since 2005 a member of the Quality Divers.
We offer education according CMAS and PADI guidelines. Our offers include all levels from introductory dives to professional certification of dive instructors. Furthermore, we support the Madeira Nature Park and Shark Project.

 

Where we are

The island enchants with its lush vegetation. Flowers, fruits and spices are the treasures of the island. Walks through the mountain forests in the interior of the country are an interesting change to the exploration of the lush underwater world.

Manta Diving Centre – The centre can easily be reached through the well-attended resort of the Galo-Resort Hotels. An elevator takes the divers comfortably and quickly to the centre and bathing resort. In the clear deep-blue Atlantic you can already recognise the outlines of the domestic reefs.

 

What you can expect

´Why roam so far afield, when the good things are so close´. This proverb could come from Madeira. The warm ridges of the Gulf Stream (year round water temperatures of 18°- 24°C) and the protected biosphere provide variety which can almost be compared to the tropical waters.

Garden eels as far as the eyes can see, parrot-, trumpet-, puffer-, trigger fishes and black corals provide a really exotic atmosphere. Large fishes such as giant groupers, mackerels, barracudas, rays and seasonable manta-rays or a monk seal can also be observed directly at the house reef!

 

The Dive Sites

Diving at the domestic reef



Short distances and transport times are ideal for divers. Manta Diving is located centrally
on the domestic reef, rich with fishes – just jump in to the water and you are surrounded
by Madeira´s underwater nature reserve.
Four different diving locations can be reached via entries without any problem, for example a cave tunnel with air bubble or the steep face of the ‘Arena’ with its large fish swarms.
Here, the varied diving locations reach to a diving depth of 34m.

We offer the complete range of courses in accordance with CMAS-Barakuda and PADI standards.

Our qualifications: Master-Scuba Diver Trainer, Barakuda course director and examiner, State-acknowledged diving instructor, Diving instructor assistant training, Special brevets, Nnitrox instructor and Examiner.

With these qualifications we can help divers of every level enjoy their stay on Madeira. Furthermore we perform holistic diving and offer biological dives.
