´Why roam so far afield, when the good
things are so close´. This proverb could come from Madeira.
The warm ridges of the Gulf Stream (year round water temperatures
of 18°- 24°C) and the protected biosphere provide variety
which can almost be compared to the tropical waters.
Garden eels as far as the eyes can see, parrot-, trumpet-, puffer-,
trigger fishes and black corals provide a really exotic atmosphere.
Large fishes such as giant groupers, mackerels, barracudas, rays
and seasonable manta-rays or a monk seal can also be observed
directly at the house reef!
