Who we are

Angel Fish Dive Centre was founded in 2003 inside the Angel Fish Bay-side Marina, making it the only Dive Centre on Mahe with an own direct jetty access. Excellent service in an idyllic environment gives our guests a glimpse of an extraordinary holiday feeling to enjoy their stay with us from the very beginning.

A well trained team of both local staff and international experienced diving instructors is devoted and hard working to make your stay an unforgettable one. A-class dive sites and safe diving (with optional Nitrox) is the reason for our excellent international reputation.

Since 2006 Angel Fish runs the dive Centre on Desroches Island, a small 5 star hotel resort run by the Naiade group in the outer islands of the Amirantes group of the Seychelles archipelago.

Where we are

The Seychelles are widely known as the last paradise on earth. The Inner Islands of the Seychelles archipelago (Mahe, Praslin, La Digue, a.o.) are world famous for their images of the granite boulders on white sanded beaches, that give the islands a characteristic view. This granite boulders are also to be found under the water and give a bizarre image.

The air temperature (around 32°C during daytime and 25°C during the night, all year round) and the water temperature (all year round between 27°-30°) make this part of the Indian Ocean one of the most attractive destinations. The lush green of the islands, the spirit and kindness of the creole people creates an impressive atmosphere that is impossible to forget.

What you can expect

Angel Fish covers all your expectations towards a diving holidays. A free hotel transfer is offered from every hotel on Mahe. We organise full day excursions, 2 tank dives, wreck- and night dives, Nitrox diving and diving Safaris.

High standard rental equipment (Suunto computers, Hartenberger u/w lamps) is only one of our quality features. Seychelles is not a mass diving destination – therefore diving groups are rather small and seldom exceed 6-8 people. Most of the times you are the only ones diving at a particular spot and that gives diving in Seychelles an exclusive character. Crowded dive sites are totally unknown to us!

The Dive Sites

The Inner Islands form an underwater plateau that rises from the depths of the Indian Ocean to a level between 30 meters (98 feet) and 50 meters (165 feet). This leads to the fact that dives around the main islands are rather shallow and seldom exceed 20 meters (65 feet). But at different dive spots you also get 30 meters (98 feet) and more. Currents can get quite strong on dive sites exposed to the ocean, what always brings a stunning amount of marine life.

The nice side of the diving is that we have dive sites for every diver’s level. Once you dived places like Mannes Banks, Lost City, Brissaire Rock or L’Ilot Island you always want to come back for more.

Desroches Island is a coral reef set-up – far away from any civilisation. Pristine diving with a lot of overhangs and caves form a world class diving area with excellent reputation.

The Diving

The amount of fishes in Seychelles is impressive and breathtaking. There are different seasons with different possibilities to have encounters with different species. The first one to mention is the period from August to December where it is very likely to see whale sharks and manta rays. The water that has a lot of plankton during these months attracts these gentle giants and with a bit of luck you can even see groups of whale sharks.

Year-round you will be able to see big groups of snappers, fusiliers, jack fishes, bat fishes and different kinds of stingrays in impressive sizes. Furthermore there are nurse sharks, white tip reef sharks, guitar sharks and grey reef sharks to be seen as well as big groups of eagle rays (up to 50 at a time) and Mobula rays. The other underwater highlights that are often spotted are: turtles, lobster, scorpion fishes, stone fishes, bump head parrot fishes, napoleon fishes, morays and all tropical reef fishes that are common in the Indian Ocean.
